Walter Kundzicz's Champion Studio
As the 1950s gave way to the 1960s, muscle-headed beefcake gave way to free spirited, playboy jocks and roadsters. Photographers of the male nude during these changing times pushed not only the esthetic boundaries that had confined the previous decade, they pushed the legal boundaries with more revealing posing straps and sexier props. But it is the color images from Walter Kundzicz's Champion Studio that, perhaps, best capture this time period on the cusp of the sexual revolution, posing sunny, youthful models in everyday settings like the garage, the bedroom, the rumpus room, and the shower. Historically he has his place among the best photographers of his time, and deserves to be recognized for his innovative vision. For more information see the "Collector's Notes" below. Collectors Notes:
These vintage Champion prints are from the 1960s and many have the actual month and year photographically printed in their border. Early prints by Champion Studio are quite RARE and difficult to find and Kundzicz himself signed only a few. Quality and clarity of photos are excellent unless otherwise indicated.
